Can you see the sarcasm in his expression? This is John's true nature coming through-when it comes to shopping :) For months i've been told by many who've preceeded us on these adoption trips that we would want to "shop til we drop" when in Vietnam. Everything from tailor made clothing to wonderful linens to chop sticks to pearls, its all here. Well, the only issue is, that John is also here. And John decidedly hates shopping. This is actually a quality about John that I love. He's not attached to "STUFF". John loves experiences, and he would rather have time and money than things. There hasn't been an item here that he would like more than the knowledge of money left unspent that can be used for other things- Things that aren't things at all, but that are experiences which would be rich and wonderful. John well knows the value of interest, and the idea of retiring earlier so we can travel and serve as missionaries together is much more appealing than tailor made suits or ebony chop sticks. So, I love John for not loving to shop. I hope I can follow his example (maybe I'll start after I visit the dress maker...)
