Why Here? Why Now?
We've invited many friends to view this blog who have not known our "adoption story" from its beginnings. This story began 5 years ago, when John and I were considering the prospect of inviting a fourth child into our lives. We were then living in Stockholm, Sweden. What a long and winding road that has brought us here; 3 moves and 2 children later. After 5 years, meeting Lucy for the first time was like a reunion of sorts. Her spirit has had a place in our family for such a long time. This journey to Lucy has been just that; a journey. But mainly a spiritual adventure in which we've learned many things. Formost we've learned without a doubt that we are all children of a kind and gracious God. He knows us intimately and loves us all intensely. He greatly desires our growth, and provides many opportunities for us to experience great joy. We've learned that often that joy comes when we lay down what we want for ourselves (4 kids and life in Mayberry) and pick up instead what He wants for us (6 kiddos and life with a swimming pool). So, now we thank Him for this journey, and we try to show our thanks in how we raise our kids, in how we treat our friends and neighbors, and in how we live the life He's given us. We are so thankful He has seen fit to include Lucy (and Mason and Brynley and Madison and Porter and Molly) in that life. We are so thankful that life includes the love and example of so many of you.

She is so beautiful, she will fit right in with your other beautiful daughters.
I am just grateful I get to call you my sister, John my brother, and am uncle to your kids. Thanks for your example
