
...a view of Lucy's hallway. As we go up the stairs we see to our right the open windows that line the hallway where Lucy's room is. All the plants are real. And rain has fallen almost every day we've been here, lots of rain, the slide and plants are well watered! Often in this open space we see clotheslines strung with baby clothes strewn along them, drying in the open air.

A fun mural greets us at the top of the stairs. If we turned immediately to our left here, we would go into yet another baby room. I peeked inside this room, where another american woman goes to visit her daughter. Here are the new, new babies. The tiny week-old darlings whove been left at the hospital or brought to the orphanage door and left. They are so tiny in their cribs. So so small. But on we go to the right, around a second corner (again to the right) to...

Lucy's Hallway. To the left you see the windows to Lucy's room. To the right are the windows from the previous picture. Lining the hall you see a clothesline (I love to see the clothes here, it shows me the care at wich the nannies go to in keeping the babies clean). Continuing past Lucy's room as an open room where the toddlers and handicapped children eat and play, and straight in front down the hall is dorm room for the kindergarten and pre-school aged children. But we go no further than the door on the left where we know we are close to Lucy!

Finally, we are here. Our shoes are deposited beside the door. Sorry for the ugly toe in the pic! These sandals have actually been perfect for this trip-breathable, easy on easy off, and durable. Anyway, we line them up neatly and knock on the screen door of Lucy's room. We always wait for the nannies to let us know it is o.k. to come in...
