A Birthday wish come true!

Today is my 35th Birthday. All week I've secretly been wishing for news on our travel date as a birthday wish. I've never bought into the whole "wishing thing"-didn't really wish upon a star as a kid etc., but this little birthday wish has been rattling around in my mind for a while.

Believe it or not, this wish actually came TRUE. This evening we learned that we would leave for Vietnam as soon as possible. Looks like we'll take off from Salt Lake at 6 a.m. Monday morning. We'll hold Lucy for the first time on Wednesday August 2nd, and we'll endure the process to bring her out of the orphanage, through the immigration process and into our home forever! We have like 72 hours to get ready, at 32 items on the "has to be done to leave" spreadsheet (of course, the spreadsheet is John's work of wonder). We also have a dozen kids coming to swim in the pool tomorrow-a party arranged to help us enjoy the summer while we waited for news-so 12 of those 72 hours will be spent on the pool party! This will be a crazy and memorable weekend, to say the least, and then its across the ocean to our darling baby girl!
